Juns Pro Services offers high quality thermoplastic striping services.  A complete line of Raised Pavement Markers (RPM’s) and Snow-Plowable Raised Pavement Markers for our customers.  They provide an all-weather, year-round guidance system that won’t black out in rain, sleet, fog or falling snow.  Durable, conformable, preformed reflective pavement marking tape for permanent-type applications such as lane and center lines, edge lines, gore markings, crosswalks, stop bars, symbols and legends.  Thermo for road markings are one of the most common types of road markings due to its balance between cost and performance longevity.

Pavement Striping

Heated to approximately 400 degrees, the thermoplastic material consists of pigments, binders, and glass beads that form a durable, longer lasting product with nighttime visibility.  Time uses thermoplastic sealer on Portland Concrete and aged asphalt surfaces.  The sealer is applied prior to the application of thermoplastic pavement marking materials and ensures a high quality bonding of the material to the surface.

Hot Tape thermoplastic

Symbols and words are often done with Hot Tape thermoplastic, which is a durable pavement marking system where thermoplastic symbols and legends are supplied in their final form and shape.  The marking is supplied in large pieces, which are then put together as a giant puzzle.  This heavy-duty intersection grade pavement marking material is ideal for high traffic areas where maximum wear and tear is present.

If you have existing paint, epoxy, polyester, or tape pavement markings, they must be removed at least by 90% to provide adequate bonding.  Removal of existing thermoplastic is required.  Existing road markings can be removed by Juns Pro Services using grinding methods at very reasonable rates.

New Concrete

New Concrete must be allowed to cure for at least 14 days and must be water or sand blasted to remove any curing compounds or surface film.  New Asphalt can be striped with thermoplastic pavement markings 24 hours after the final roll is completed.  It is recommended that a new asphalt roadway not be striped until all construction is complete and the roadway has at least 7 days of traffic flow.  This allows any oils, roller aids, or other “liquid” surface coatings to be tracked off the road surface.

Having the roadway free of these debris’ items will allow for a better bond and a longer lasting line.  Waiting also helps prevent any of these oils, dirt, etc. from being tracked or deposited onto the new thermoplastic markings making them less bright and reflective.
